Boarding Policies
PROOF OF VACCINATIONS & EMERGENCIES
To ensure the health of all pets staying at Wyatt's Bed & Biscuit, we require without exception proof of vaccinations from your veterinarian's office showing current Rabies, DHPP (for dogs under 5 years of age), and *Bordetella (kennel cough) every six months. We offer the kennel cough vaccine here for $20. It is the nasal kind and we will administer to pets with a history of receiving the vaccination. If your pet has not had kennel cough as part of it's vaccination schedule, it must be administered ONE WEEK PRIOR TO BOARDING, proof is required.

We will accept vaccination titers with proof from your vet and if your pet is exempt from vaccines due to age or allergic reactions; you must also provide a note from your vet as well.

Proof of vaccinations can be a letter or vaccination records from your veterinarian that can be mailed in or emailed to us prior to your reservations.

If there is an emergency and your pet should require veterinary care while staying with us, we will work with your veterinarian or the local Emergency Veterinary Clinic to provide the required care. We use Aiken Animal Hospital as our main veterinary practice should you not designate a particular clinic. Whenever possible, we will contact you or the person you designate at the emergency number you leave us, if such care should be required.
Veterinary care is provided under the terms of Wyatt's Bed & Biscuit Boarding, Grooming and Veterinary Care Release Form (see Intake Form). You may print the form out to fill it in and bring with you to your boarding or grooming appointment.

DROP OFF AND PICK UP
You may drop off or pick up your pet anytime during our operating hours (though we will ask you when making reservations if it will be an 'AM' or 'PM' drop off and pick up). We operate just like a regular hotel/motel. Regular checkout time is during our morning hours. Pick up during morning hours = no charge for that day. Pick up during afternoon hours = full nights’ charge.

Our Hours

During our off hours, please do not honk your car horn at a closed gate or call us and expect to be let in unless prior arrangements have been made and approved. Thank you for understanding.
INTACT MALES AND FEMALES
If you have an intact male or female and are interested in boarding, please phone the kennel at 803-335-2828 to discuss details.

FOOD
We offer SPORTMIX Wholesomes Fish Meal & Rice Formula (corn, wheat and soy free and ZERO fishy smell. Click the link to learn more about the food) dry food as our “house” food; there are no extra charges for utilizing our food but we do try encourage you to provide what your pet is used to eating. Sometimes being in a new environment can cause tummy upset and switching abruptly to a new diet can do the same.
We have a fridge for any food that requires it. You may send your pets food in individual zip-lock baggies (if they eat dry only; we will mix with canned food when needed) with the correct amounts or send enough for their visit (always pack a little extra just in case) in a secure lidded container. We have a variety of measuring scoops and cups but feel free to include your own in with your food.

Treats are welcome with the exception of rawhide or rawhide type treats.

BELONGINGS
While we do provide a large variety of bedding (pads, quilts, solid blankets or off the floor beds) you are welcome to send your pets own bed provided it is EASILY WASHABLE. Or, you may include a small blanket, shirt or towel from home; a familiar scent is comforting for pets new to boarding. Feel free to send 1-2 toys if you like as well, make certain all belongings are marked with your pets’ names.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND:
Food or water dishes (Slow-bowls are ok)
Glass containers of any kind
Ripped toys with stuffing coming out
Stuffed toys with hard plastic eyes or noses
Squeaky toys
Tennis balls
Frisbees

MEDICATIONS
We expect that some of our guests might require medications. If your pet requires prescription medication, topical ointments to be applied, eye drops or ear drops we charge a fee of $2.00 per day for 1-2 medications and $5.00 per day for 3 or more medications. We generally do not charge for vitamins or supplements that can be safely placed in your pets’ food but if there are multiple vitamins or supplements to be mixed in, we will charge for that.
Many pets take their meds in peanut butter, we provide those products here at the biscuit. If you’re pet requires ‘Pill Pockets’ or special treats, you must provide your own.

If your pet is on a prescription medication or supplement please try to send in the prescription bottle, or if you are putting pills in other containers please make certain to write out in clear lettering the name of the drug and the correct dosage. It is extremely important for us to know the exact medication and dosage in case of any emergencies.
SPECIAL NEEDS DOGS
Occasionally we get calls asking if we can board pets with certain special medical needs. The answer depends on what exactly your pets’ needs are. We can accommodate dogs with arthritic conditions, blind dogs, deaf dogs, dogs on seizure meds who do not have active seizures and even diabetic dogs requiring insulin injections.

However, if your pet meets any of the criteria listed below, boarding at your veterinarians' office or having a pet sitter come into your home may be the best option.

-Incontinent (cannot control their bladder or bowels when getting up/down)
-Extremely fragile or elderly and needs a quiet environment
-Has just had surgery and is wearing a cone or has stitches still in place
-Needs medication, special care or feeding outside of our regular hours of operation
-Needs absolute peace and quiet
-Has regular active seizures
AGGRESSIVE DOGS
Wyatt's reserves the right to refuse admittance to any dog of any breed that we deem to be aggressive upon visual inspection. We realize there are many breeds that have a bad reputation and though they may not be aggressive to you the owner that can change when your pet is in new surroundings. It is not our responsibility to train or socialize your pet and we must protect our staff and all other boarded guests.

PLAY TIME
Supervised play time is the highlight of your pet’s day at Wyatt’s Bed & Biscuit. We require owners to certify that your pets have not harmed or shown aggressive or threatening behavior towards any person or any other dog since all well-tempered dogs are encouraged to play as a group. Our staff knows how to maintain a fun, safe and controlled environment. If your pet displays behaviors that are disruptive or harmful to the group, they will be removed from the group; our boarders’ health and safety is our main concern. We will attempt to find them a smaller or more compatible play group or they may have individual play time only. If your dog has a history of digging out or jumping or climbing fences, PLEASE LET US KNOW. If your dog is an escape artist, he or she will have to be hand walked for exercise at an additional cost of $10 per day. Wyatt’s Bed & Biscuit will not be held responsible for a dog escaping from our fenced play yard.

PAYMENTS
Payment is required upon pick up. We accept Cash, Check, Credit Cards, and Debit Cards.
VISITORS
We understand the need to see the place where you are considering boarding your pet and while we are quite proud of our kennel and love to show it off we feel the photos of our facility in the gallery are sufficient. If you’ve scrolled through our gallery and still would like to visit, please call us at 803-335-2828 to schedule a visit; we usually have visitors Tuesday-Thursday mornings between 10am-11am
We will give you a small tour of our facility; the kennel area can only be viewed through a window as we find it’s disrupting to our boarded guests to have visitors in the kennel area. Please do not bring your pet to your scheduled appointment.

ALL DOGS MUST BE LEASHED WHEN ENTERING OR LEAVING OUR PROPERTY.

WYATT’S BED & BISCUIT STRIVES TO BE A FLEA FREE FACILITY. PLEASE CHECK YOUR PETS CAREFULLY FOR FLEAS PRIOR TO BRINGING THEM TO OUR KENNEL. ANY PET ADMITTED FOR BOARDING THAT IS FOUND TO BE INFESTED WITH FLEAS WILL BE BATHED AND TREATED AT THE OWNERS’ EXPENSE.
